file extention

Hi Guy's,

Any idea why When file extention is enabled and an external sender send a mail with  an .exe file, the sender get  any warning that the attechment of his mail was blocked by Sophos?

    Hi Aresh,

    A user(internal) will receive a notification if the system blocks an outgoing message (if outgoing scanning is enabled by the admin) but the same is not possible when an external sender's mail is blocked.

    The easiest thing to do is to activate the Quarantine Report. That way, each person with one or more email addresses in their User object will receive a Report once or twice a day.

    Thank you as Always for your reply,

    Dont you think it would be a good idea if the external user would also get en delivery report when his/her message get filterd by Sophos? if I remember it correctly the Forefront Protection for Exchange Server Always send a message to the external users as well.

    I have already setup the quarantine reports and our users get it 2 times a day.

    Any who thank you for letting me to khow that this will not work for the external users

    Hi Aresh,

    I support the idea and totally agree with you. But contrary to this, even a notification to the receiver will alert the user to contact the sender to resend the mail or ask the administrator to release it from the quarantine box. You can raise this as a feature request at feature.astaro.com.
