Outlook Plugin versions

We recently installed some SG210s, and I have been deploying the Outlook plugin.

I have notice that if you use the user portal link to get the plug-in it downloads version 1.3.0.  Version 1.3.0 appears to offer only the Encrypt button, and there are no configuration options when installing or in the Plugin.  Is it true that version 1.3.0 does not have the report spam button?

Versions 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 are available.  I downloaded both and have tested them.  They add the Spam button and configuration options when loading the Plugin, but they appear to be incompatible with the current UTM firmware.  When the Encrypt button is used on an email with version 1.3.0, the UTM correctly intercepts the email and encrypts.  With 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 the message does not get encrypted.  Are 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 only compatible with the Sophos Email appliance and not UTM 9?

We would really like to deploy it with both the encrypt button and report spam buttons and any other enhancements in the updates.

  • Problem solved.  Instead of using the Setup.exe for the plugin, I had to install 1.3.2 from a command prompt.  I unzipped the plugin files to TEMP and installed using,

    msiexec /qr /i C:\TEMP\SophosOutlookAddInSetup.msi T=3 EC=3 C=1 I=1

I tested it and everything is working the way it should with the Sophos encrypting email including attachments when desired and the Spam button useable from Outlook.  I am not sure what was going on when installing it the normal way.

  • where you can get the actual versions?
