Outlook Plugin versions

We recently installed some SG210s, and I have been deploying the Outlook plugin.

I have notice that if you use the user portal link to get the plug-in it downloads version 1.3.0.  Version 1.3.0 appears to offer only the Encrypt button, and there are no configuration options when installing or in the Plugin.  Is it true that version 1.3.0 does not have the report spam button?

Versions 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 are available.  I downloaded both and have tested them.  They add the Spam button and configuration options when loading the Plugin, but they appear to be incompatible with the current UTM firmware.  When the Encrypt button is used on an email with version 1.3.0, the UTM correctly intercepts the email and encrypts.  With 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 the message does not get encrypted.  Are 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 only compatible with the Sophos Email appliance and not UTM 9?

We would really like to deploy it with both the encrypt button and report spam buttons and any other enhancements in the updates.

  • Hi, Donald Henry, and welcome  the UTM Community!

What did Sophos Support have to say about this?

  • I have not contacted support yet.  I will forward it through our local dealer, and see what we get back.  I thought I would try the community first.

Although it would be nice to have the encrypt button and spam button, I am glad that I did some testing when I tried the new versions and saw that the UTM was not intercepting the messages and encrypting them.  The UTM is up to date, and still downloads the original 1.3 through the user portal.
