Can I receive rejected emails after the sender has been added to an exemption list?

I have 50 emails rejected from a single sender (Rejected: SPF (SPF check failed)).  I've since added an exemption for the sender.  Is there anyway to now receive these rejected emails AFTER adding an exemption, or do I have to ask the sender to resend them

    Richard, you need to let the sender know that their spf TXT record is incorrect.
