External outgoing mails stays stuck in Exchange

Hello,

I recently configure my forst UTM, and everyting was working fine 2 days ago (including outgoing mails).

However, since yesterday morning, all external outgoing mails stay stuck in the Exchange server.

And I cannot sse any teace of them in the UTM logs (including Email Protection).

How can I see what is blocking them, and how can I solve this ?

Remark : when I connect my old firewall, the mails are immediately released => it is not an Exchange issue.

    Did you check mail manager logs? You can find this option in Email Protection> Mail Manager. What logs do you discover here, when an outgoing mail is stuck?

    Which SMTP port is in use? Take a TCPDUMP on the specific SMTP port through UTM and verify if the communication is proper.

    Thanks for the answer.

    However, after staying a whole night working on the issue, I discovered the problem.

    It was... the multipath !

    I had to create a multipath rule to redirected all SMTP flow on the Fixed IP Internet access.

    Now, it works fine.

  • Is Exchange configured to use the UTM as a smart host?  Compare your configuration to Basic Exchange setup with SMTP Proxy.  To use only the interface with a fixed IP for sending mail, use a Traffic Selector of 'Any -> SMTP -> Internet' in your Multipath rule and uncheck 'Skip rule ...' in the 'Advanced' section of the rule.
