How to get notified if Mail Queue reaches threshold

Hello All,

  I hope everybody is doing fine. I have a question i would like to get help here.

Is there a way to get notified when Spooled Mail queue exceeds certain amount say for example if it exceeds above 10. The reason is over the past weekend our Mail queue in Sophos had reached to 2000 emails and hence we were not getting any mails over the weekend and after we released all emails on Monday morning we got all delayed emails.

  So if there is any way we can configure it in Sophos if Mail queue exceed we get notification so we can immediately act upon it to avoid such situation in future.

    I assume that your email notifications all go to one mail server.  Just because communication with that server has stalled doesn't necessarily mean that all outbound mail is interrupted.  We would need more detail about what the SMTP log indicates and whether you did anything other than just releasing everything.

    It looks like 125 and 138 are related to SMTP.  I don't see any other possibilities.  If you ask this question of Sophos Support, please let us know if there's something else they suggest.
