Outlook Connector, Hotmail, UTM

On the advice of a previous poster, I am starting a new thread to deal with Hotmail issues.

We use the Outlook connector to work with Hotmail, live, or outlook.com; whatever you want to call it.  This worked perfectly fine when using TMG.  Since switching over to Sophos UTM v 9.105-9, Hotmail will not connect for any user.  It gives the following errors in Outlook:
Error (0x8004005) Network Operation failed.
Error (0x8004102A) Error  with Send/Receive.  There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error: 80041004.

Also cannot access it via the web, it gives Sign In Host not found.

  • Mike, have you configured the POP3 Proxy for Hotmail?  If Outlook is configured for IMAP, there's no IMAP Proxy at present, and you'll need to have Outlook connect directly via Firewall rule.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Well I guess that would be why, since the Outlook connector is for MAPI.  Though it does not explain the reason you cannot get to it from the web.
