UTM SG115W WAN limitation

The limitations might be caused by an IPS policy. Try disabling the IPS and verify the bandwidth.

You can also check, what bandwidth does UTM receives from an upstream modem, for this, you need to SSH to UTM as root, refer the section, Accessing the UTM via SSH and log in as root. Then run the command,

wget --no-check-certificate -O - https://raw.github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest_cli.py | python

You will see the final output of the actual bandwidth received on the UTM.

Thanks for the replay.

I have disabled the IPS and indeed the speed is now 200/200 Mbps.

How can i maintain the speed with IPS enabled?

If you search here, you will find that Snort is the limitation on speed because it is single-threaded.  The test you use is also single-threaded.  You might get a combined speed of 200Mbps by simultaneously measuring download speeds from two or more devices.  I don't think I've seen the results of such a test with a 115, so please share yours.

This has solved the problem:

cc set ips queue_length 8192

I have also disabled some IPS rules which are not applicable for me:

But before disabling those rules i have tested the speed. There was a small performance improvement.

The Big improvement was: cc set ips queue_length 8192
