UTM up2date from 9.413-4 to 9.500-9 boot issue. Non clustered, Single HD UTM, Non Raid

up2date from 9.413-4 to 9.500-9 release, the boot stops with this error

fsck.ddf_raid_member: not found

I am not configured for raid on this box.  This is a single HD UTM.

Any suggestions on this?

  • It says:

    fsck from util-linux 2.19.1

    fsck: fsck.ddf_raid_member: not found

    fsck: Error 2 while execution fsck.ddf_raid_member for /dev/sda6

    fsck failed. Mounting root device read-only

    Mounting root /dev/disk/by-label/root

    mount -o ro,data=ordered -t ddf_raid_member /dev/disk/by-label/root /{something i cant remember}

    mount: unknown filesystem type 'ddf_raid_member'

    could not mount root filesystem -- exiting to /bin/sh

    This just happened to my Zotac Home install after updating.

  • Hi Guys,

    same problem with our system, after updating from 9.4 to 9.5 UTM isn´t able to mount root filesystem.

    Looks that the 9.5 have problems with older hardware

  • So, I found the best thing to do with 9.5 was to use a fresh ISO and rebuild my config from scratch.  I had some really strange issues with the web proxy after I used the 9.5 iso and restored my 9.4 backup.

  • So I take it there is no solution other then Reinstall?
