After I updated to the Latest Firmware Today - My SOPHOS UTM 9.4 - Wifi fails to start

After I updated to the Latest Firmware Today - My SOPHOS UTM 9.4 - Wifi fails to start

 

The "State" is - UP

but

The "Link" is - DOWN

 

The Error Message is as follows -

2017:05:22-16:30:20 thanos hostapd: Failed to initialize driver 'nl80211'
2017:05:22-16:30:20 thanos hostapd: hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wifi0 wasn't started
2017:05:22-16:30:51 thanos hostapd: Configuration file: /var/run/hostapd-phy0.conf
2017:05:22-16:30:51 thanos hostapd: nl80211: 'nl80211' generic netlink not found
2017:05:22-16:30:51 thanos hostapd: Failed to initialize driver 'nl80211'


May I please kindly ask how I can resolve this issue on my SOPHOS UTM 9.4 Firewall ?

    Hi David,

    SSH to the UTM and restart awed services, 

    /var/mdw/scripts/awed restart

    Later, delete the wireless host definition and the AP and reconfigure it. Any help?

    The WebAdmin Live Logs has these errors after running the SSH PUTTY Commands as well as deletion and re-creation of the Wireless AP Definitions

    2017:05:22-21:12:04 thanos hostapd: hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wifi0 wasn't started

    2017:05:22-21:12:34 thanos hostapd: Configuration file: /var/run/hostapd-phy0.conf
    2017:05:22-21:12:34 thanos hostapd: nl80211: 'nl80211' generic netlink not found
     
     
    The SSH Terminal in PUTTY has these errors
     
    thanos:/root # /var/mdw/scripts/awed restart

    :: Starting awed done
    :: Restarting awed
    thanos:/root # nl80211 not found.
    nl80211 not found.
    nl80211 not found.
    nl80211 not found.

    And it keeps on looping on the 

    nl80211 not found.

    A similar issue was seen in the past and it was in the firmware release. I would request you to raise a case in Support and provide me the case#.
