Unable to install on Mitac E230

Hi,

I bought a Mitac E230 (http://client.mitac.com/products-Embedded-Box-PC-PlutoE230.html) with the express reason of installing UTM, I have build a number of USB installers and have gone so far as to buy a DVD rom (I know) to try but it won't pick up the OS as bootable in the BIOS. I have installed Linux Mint to make sure there wasn't an issue and that installed without an issue.

Is there something specific I have missed, or need to change in the BIOS?

Any help or guidance very gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

Hi Bob,

The installation is very streamlined when you use supported hardware.

Burn the ASGxxxx.iso to dvd an boot your hardware like installing any OS. If ith won't boot, theres a problem with the .iso or the dvd.

The critical point is the hardware detection.

If it stops around 60% the problem is the wrong detection of your HDMI Port. -> Put drive to another hardware, install UTM and then put the drive back.

If no NICs detected, its no supported hardware.

Thank you for your reply, that was my thoughts as well but wanted to be sure. I just can't get the iso to boot, but will keep trying.

I assume you purchased the dual LAN option? If not that will also be part of the issue.
