Looking for installation iso-image of version 9.320

What do you want to do?

a) Installing a Appliance-Version on a non Sophos-Appliance or

b) Installing a SW-Version on a non Sophos-Hardware?

-> a) is illegal but before 9.35x the installer just switched to a SW-Install

-> b) You need the SW-ISO

I want to install the SW-ISO on non Sophos-Hardware.

This works without problems, but only until installation-iso 9.317. The next iso-images i have from 9.350 onward (include 9.4) the installation is not possible anymore. Since version 9.35x everything in the installer seems to be changed. I tested it with three different hardware-systems (Zotac Ci323nano; Shuttle DS67U; Gigabyte GA-N3150N-D3V), with all these sytems a installation with the image 9.317 was possible, with 9.350 and following it was NOT.

And i think, the last working image could be 9.320. This is the reason, why i'm looking for this iso-image.

Possibly a new linux kernel was used with later versions. I believe I do have a copy on a CD somewhere.

Would pay you to check the log when the failure occurs, might be a high performance timer issue or unsupported chipset?

found out which linux version the motherboard work with - Linux kernel version 3.16.0-4-amd64.

I think you are using the wrong ISO. If your ISO file name starts with "ssi", it is meant to be used exclusively with Sophos/Astaro appliances an it will not install on non-Sophos hardware.

Check here: www.sophos.com/.../utm-downloads.aspx

You should use the files for "UTM v9 software appliance", named as asg-9.405-5.1.iso for the latest version or asg-9.356-3.1.iso for a previous version. Those ISOs would not even check what hardware are you installing into.

Now, if you are using those ISOs and are getting a error during setup, we need for information to help you.

For instance, there has been some reports about issues when using hardware with HDMI video output, where the setup would halt at 66% (https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/52/t/29921). If your hardware has HDMI video output, those will definitely not work. If that's the case, you'll need a regular VGA card installed to your hardware to proceed with UTM software installation.

for my installation i used only the iso-images for sw-appliance, beginning with asg-9xxxxx.

The message, that no asg hardware was found, every time appears (regardless of working or non-working image)

Grasping at straws here. What mode is your disk controller in?

I would also suspect that your motherboard has some bad bits set. Try installing an update or reflash the existing bios.

Hello Ian,

two of the three testsystems (Zotac CI323nano & GA-N3150N-D3V) have an Intel N3150, and the other testsystem (Shuttle DS67U) has an Intel 3855U. In all constellations the hd-controller is working in legacy-mode, not in efi-mode.

And the behavior is with all three (different) systems the same, iso-images until 9.317 (possibly until 9.320, WHICH I'M LOOKING FOR) are installable, images from 9.350 and above are not installable.

has no one the same behavior while installing of actual utm-versions?
I can't believe that the reason is my hardware, because the same behavior i had with three different hardwaresystems.

How are you install the utm actual? With the same method like me (first 9.317, than update to 9.4).

The image you posted above means that you've downloaded the incorrect ISO as Giovani said.

the same I thought at first.
But ALL IMAGES I USED are be named with asg-9. in the filename (not with ssi-)!

In my opinion these images are the right ones to install on 3rd Party Intel-Hardware.
