Fix UTM build blunder

How to correct my building b

My build:

Gigabyte B150N-GSM
I3
8 gb ram

My foolish mistake is that I did not pay attention to see that there is no VGA. The motherboard only offers HDMI and the install gets stuck at 66%.

The motherboard also has Dual Gig nics and during install only detects one before getting stuck at %66.

Is there anything I can do to rectify the HDMI, USB vga?

  • Hi and welcome,

you haven't done anything wrong. The motherboard is not compatible with the UTM installation software. The stop at 66% is caused by the HPT (high performance timer) not being identified by the installing software. The same thing happens on motherboards with the Z170 chipset.

If you are home user I suggest you try the XG as that MB will work with it.

    XG115W - v20.0.2 MR-2 - Home

    XG on VM 8 - v21 GA

  • I have tried XG as well and the install goes through but it only detects one of the nics.on the motherboard. When it boots it then comes up in failsafe mode. I will continue to research.

    Thanks
