Hystou fanless i5 with Dual Intel NIC

I came across this: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Mini-PC-Windows-Core-i5-3317U-Mini-PC-Dual-LAN-2-Gigabit-LAN-Port-Mini-PC/228210_32683460702.html. It's a dual core Ivy Bridge with dual Intel LANs

I have a 180/20 Comcast cable connection and would like to deploy UTM 9 and have IPS enabled.

Does anyone have any experience with installing UTM on this? In theory it should work as it contains supported CPU and Intel NIC's

  • No experience with this box, but the processor could be a bottleneck for your 180 Mbps connection in combination with IPS.

IPS is very, very CPU frequency intensive and the 3317U processor has a base of 1.7GHz with turbo speed of 2.6GHz both of which could be too low for IPS at this speed.

It will likely work, but your maximum throughput could decrease as a result of this.
