Since update to 9.404-5 internal network not working

Last night I updated my Sophos UTM (home) to 9.404-5 and now I can't acces it anymore. It response to ping but that's it. No admin portal no user portal. DHCP, DNS, ... are not working.

I can connect to the user portal from the internet, but that's it. VPN is also not working.

The UTM has already been restarted.

I still receive mails from it, but that's via the external interface.

I tried SSH but not working either.

Anyone an idea on how I can solve this?

    I can log in when I connect monitor and keyboard to it and I can ping to internal and external IP's and DNS is also working on the UTM itself.

    That's very strange behavior. Do you have a recent backup? I would suggest that you download a new ISO already on 9.404-5 and reimage your box, restoring the backup during the setup. It might be the easier way to get things working again.

  • That is indeed very strange. But in the meantime I already reinstalled and restored the UTM. And it's running on 9.404-5 now without any issues. Luckily I have it set to take a backup every week :)

  • For others that come to this thread - when you have a problem right after an Up2Date, try the following in order:

    1. Reboot.
    2. Restore a recent backup.  If that lets you in, restore the automatic backup before your last Up2Date session.
    3. Re-install from ISO and restore your most-recent backup.  You lose all of Reporting, graphs and logs.
