Reset HA (Active-Passive) error: no free node ID available

Hello all,

I'm trying to get HA working on 2 UTM's (both on an ESXi environment). The setup was working, but the second UTM was offline for about 3 days.

When I powered up the second UTM, HA wasn't working anymore. If I look in the HA log on the first UTM, I get a error:

Autojoin of 198.19.250.187 granted! Searching for unused node ID...
198.19.250.187 cant join HA system, no free node id available!

So I thought, lets disable HA on both systems, reboot them and turn HA on again (with the first UTM running for some minutes, so he will be the master again).

But unfortunately i'm getting the same errors over and over again if I enable HA on both device. Like the node ID is stored somewhere.

Anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Thanks,
Bart

  • Was this working before?  In order for a new join to occur, the prospective Slave must be factory reset - there must be NO configuration done on it.
