ASG220 video conector pinout

Hi all,
I need to upgrade my 220 from V6 to V7, but online up2date does not work and the appliance will not boot from three different USB CDROM drives.

I have read that the boot priority might not be set properly.

Could someone please provide the video connector pinout so that I can access the bios setup?

thanks.
Ken.

  • Just a note.  The XFX Low-Profile bracket kit has a similar cable, but the header is incorrect for the 220.  I bought one; it was obvious the J15 connector needed a smaller header.

  • Schei....e.

I ordered one. So what is the right adapter for an aSTARO REV1

  • Today, I ordered the materials from Futurlec.com for $8.85, shipping included, to make two half-meter cables each with a connector hood for the 15-pin D-connector.  You likely can buy the same Chinese products in Hamburg!

  • Hi Bob,

    Did the cable work??

If so, I can order the same materials from Futurlec and I shouldn't have any issue.  The components just snaps together?

Also, I have to get an adapter to convert it to a HDDB 15 connector?

    Thanks
    Phil
  • They sent the wrong socket connector - it doesn't mate to the pins on the ASG motherboard.  I have no idea if it was my error or theirs, and I haven't tried this again.  If you do, please email me with details of your successful purchase.

    Thanks - Bob

  • Did anyone found a connector that "does mate to the pins on the ASG motherboard"???

    Thanks
    Phil
  • Use a Mini JST connector (16 pins).
  • The main issue you will have is that the wiring for the pinout on the old 220 is different than any of their other appliances, and different from the industry standard... all of the pins are wired differently -- the manual for the device from the OEM (I have access to it) even shows the pinout incorrectly in the manual.  If I get time later today, I'll crack open the OLD 220 cable I have in hand and post the pinout.

To be honest, though, it's not really worth messing around with the old 220, 512MB is just not enough RAM to run the later builds of Version 7.*** or 8.

  • Bruce, I would think 512MB would be enough for the 'essential edition'.
