Sophos RED mit statischer IP austauschen

Hallo zusammen,

ich möchte eine RED an einer Aussenstelle tauschen, bin mir aber unsicher ob mein Vorhaben so funktioniert.

Die RED an der Aussenstelle hat aktuell eine statische IP Adresse eingetragen (DHCP wohl nicht möglich, Internetleitung etc. wird von extern bereitgestellt) und diese will ich austauschen. Ich habe die neue RED im RED Management bereits angelegt mit den gleichen Settings wie die bestehende und will sobald die RED an der Aussenstelle angekommen ist, das Interface einfach auf die neue Hardware binden, bevor sie angeschlossen wird.

1. Kann ich die RED am Hauptstandort einfach an eine Netzwerkdose hängen, damit sie sich die Konfiguration zieht (zweiter Uplink Mode steht auf DHCP/FAILOVER) ohne im Netzwerk was zu zerschiessen?

2. Wenn ja, reicht es das Interface umzustellen wenn ich die RED ausliefere, oder muss sie diese Konfiguration schon vorher kennen?

    Will the old RED be retained on the network and work alongside the new? Or the old RED will be replaced completely by a new RED? If it will be removed completely, you can do this setup by deleting the old RED on the UTM and configuring the same settings on the new one and deploying it to the branch.

    Hello Raphael,

    the old one will be replaced completely. My problem is that i don´t know if there is a chance to get DHCP at the branch office (i have no access to the router). The current red is setup via static ip and i just started to administrate the network this month. Thats why I am asking if it´s possible to connect the new red with the same settings as the current in my head office to pull the config without getting trouble with the current red at my branch office.

    You can try offline provisioning using an USB-Stick and the same configuration as the current one.

    If the new RED has dual uplink the second might serve as backup with DHCP.

    Hallo before,

    Ich mache das bei RED's mit statischer IP auch immer so.

    Ein RED mit 2 WAN-Ports behält die DHCP-Konfiguration auf WAN2 und "lernt" darüber die Konfig für Port1.

    Bei RED's mit nur einem WAN-Interface ist das etwas komplizierter.

    Im Netz "zerschossen" kann dadurch nichts werden, aber ob der Tunnel hochkommt ...?

    Oft ist die angegebene externe IP von "innen" nicht wirklich nutzbar. Ich gebe dann eine interne UTM-IP als 2. Firewall-IP an.

    Wenn plötzlich alle Ports nervös flackern, ist ein wichtiger Schritt getan und das Firmware-Upgrade hat gestartet. Dann Finger weg und abwarten.

    Das RED sollte vorher schon mal verbunden sein. Schlimmstenfalls noch mal zu Hause an den Providerrouter mit DHCP.

    Wenn das RED im UTM GUI als "online" angezeigt wird, kann das IP-interface umgestellt werden. Das kann man aber auch durchaus vorher machen.
