  • Hello Vivek, Thanks for the reply I have tried to burn the ISO from UTM 9 and try to boot the Firewall but I get an error of "No appliance was detected"

is there any specific procedure to install it? I tried to change the BIOS from UEFI to Legacy but it did not work

    Thanks in advance

  • Hey  are you using the "asg-9.714-4.1.iso" OR "ssi-9.714-4.1.iso?"
As ssi-9.714-4.1.iso is for hardware appliance only
Where as asg-9.714-4.1.iso is software appliance

    Thanks & Regards,

  • That means you downloaded and used the wrong ISO.

  • That was the problem as stated I used the software appliance.

    thanks for the help!

  • One more question if you don't mind, I have installed 4 times

    • 64 bits with enterprise tools
    • 64 bits without enterprise tools
    • 32 bits with enterprise tools
    • 32 bits without enterprise tools

I used asg-9.714-4.1.iso to do the installation.

after doing all those installs, none of the NICs are detected, but in all the installation modes it detects the 4 ethernet ports (not in the right order btw)

I used an USB to do the install and had to fix the install.tar error by mounting the USB before beginning the installation, but besides that all the options I used are the normal setup

Am I missing anything as part of the steps?

    thanks

  • Choose the 64-bit with tools.

If the NIC isn't detected, it could be a problem with the NIC not working, hardware failure perhaps.

The install.tar error is common and regular when installing from USB and doesn't affect installation after you remount.
