sophos blocks incoming calls in whatsapp

HI all,

Sophos blocks incoming calls in whatsapp
, messaging on whatsapp works, calling other via whatsapp also works, but when I'm not using my phone I don't hear incoming calls.
When i open my whatsapp then i see that I have a missed call.

I created a role to test it any -> any service -> my phone did not worked
When i disable web protection then its working.

does anyone have the fix for this?

Greetings,

Khesrouw

  • Because you need to create a URL exception in your Web Filtering to allow that traffic through (which I think is odd because it should be a port), and delete that Any-Any service, as it's not a port that's the issue.

You can watch the Web Filtering Live Log and make an incoming call.  You will see what is being blocked and you can add the exception for the URL you see blocked.

You can also look up the port information or obtain it from WhatsApp and allow those ports through the UTM.
