SPX password not sending

Hello,

We are using spx on our utm.  When the email message goes out, it goes out encrypted,  Shows encrypted on their end and asks to put in a password to view. However password is not sending to end user.  Not sure what setting makes this happen.

  • What is the 'Password type' in your SPX template, Todd?

  • Hi Bob,  It is set to specify by recipient.

  • The recipient should also have gotten an email with a link to your UTM.  That will allow him to specify his own password.  Does your SMTP log show that the message about signing in was not sent?

  • When othets have had this ptoblem, the cause has been that the UTM notification settings have not been configured, so UTM does not have a path for sending nrwly created messages.

  • I believe this may be the issues, as the email containing the password did not show in the logs ever going out.  What information/settings do you need to see in my utm as to why this is not working since everything else is.  Thanks.

  • Management... Notifications

On the Advanced tab, specify all of the settings needed for UTM to submit a message to your mail server.

On the Global tab, specify a "from" email address for UTM to use.   Assuming that UTM is using an authenticated login, the "from" username should be the same as the logon username.

To receive notifications from UTM, put your email address in the notification recipients list.  SPX does not need the notification recipients, but it does need all of the other information so that it knows how to send an email using its own identity.
