"Downgrade" UTM9 to UTM Essential Firewall?

Hi

We have done some kind of error: we have installed the free trial of UTM and configured the firewall in there. The problem is that we just wanted to use UTM Essential Firewall not the other parts of UTM. Now the trial period has ended and we would need to enter a license. [:(]

Now our questions are: is it possible to receive a license key for UTM that only enables the part that corresponds to the UTM Essential Firewall? If not: is there a possibility to move the configuration we already have done from the current UTM installation to a freshly installed UTM Essential Firewall?

Astaro does offer a free license key specifically for the essentials edition. If you go to: https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-utm-essential-firewall/download.aspx Astaro/Sophos will email you a custom licensing key.

Any way to test the essentials edition then the full edition? Trying to decide if there is enough in full to warrant upgrade for small business. I have been running the 30-day trial, but that leaves me stuck if at the end of 30 days I install the essentials license and it doesn't do what I need.

Hi,
Try this:

1. get essential license; test. backup configuration

2. re-install. import backup.

The new install should give you a new 30-day trial license.

Importing a backup "kills" the built-in eval period. If you contact a VAR, they can issue you a temp license for evaluation purposes.

The alternative is to do a clean install and reconfigure from scratch; you will then have the built-in 30 day trial period to do your eval.

I assumed as much... so I did a documentation review of the features. Essentials doesn't do it for me because of lack of uplink balancing... The new BasicGuard doesn't do it because it has uplink balancing but no multipath rules... I think 110 looks like it will work because my two uplinks are 500k/3M & 768k/7M...
