Seems like your Appliance did not apply the Update. 

Can you boot with Refresh1? 

Thats quite normal, if you are not booted with the current Version, that its shown as "Ready to Download". 

If I can quickly ask - is there anything else in this release above the (single) bug fix mentioned?

Yes a large number of issues are resolved - the documentation will be released later today.

Have there been any improvements to the UI? Specifically the page for WAF rules because that is just a hot mess.

The message that Alda refers to is the one when you login on the XG web interface which shows you the fixes BEFORE applying the update.

Where is the release notes pdf or proper thread?

The EAP1 Refresh announcement has been posted and the documents updated.

Documents seems to be exactly the same.
