Can't find system disk during XG Firewall install on cciss array

I currently have Sophos UTM 9 running on an HP DL380 G2. The RAID controller is an HP SmartArray that uses the cciss kernel module/driver. It runs perfectly fine and the installer during the hardware detection phase recognizes the cciss array.

However when trying to boot the Sophos XG install ISO I get an error that it can not find the system disk. There is no troubleshooting options. No way to drop to a terminal. The only option is "Press Y to reboot".

I'm using the "Firewall OS Software ISO for Intel Hardware" from this page to attempt the install. One parculiar thing I noticed is that the ISO is MUCH smaller than the Sophos UTM 9 install ISO. The ISO I'm getting for XG is 289MB while the UTM ISO I have is 790MB.

Am I doing something wrong or is there no support for cciss RAID devices in XG Firewall?
