XG135 Rev3 Speedstep support and fan speed

Good morning,

I've got a XG135 Rev3 that I'm planning on installing XG Home on.  Is there speedstep support within the BIOS and is the fan supposed to be controlled by PWM depending on temps etc?

It's been delivered with pfsense installed on the unit and is running very hot atm and the fan speed doesn't seem to adapt.

Are their any BIOS updates avaliable?

  • Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out to the community,

This would be a Feature Request; I'd recommend you reach out to your Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or Sales Representative so that they can integrate this request into our system to your account. You can also log a support case so that our support representative can help link that FR to the account.

Additionally, you can use the in-product feedback in the Sophos Firewall located in the Top Menu Bar.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • I doubt there are any updates available for this unit  -- I don't recall there ever being a BIOS update for the XG or XGS units at all.  Given this is actually not even a licensed unit, etc. I would not bother with a feature request -- and there certainly isn't any support for it (in its current state).

I've reused old XG and SG boxes before for home and lab uses, and that's fine, but there's no support for the HW when used that way (with Home SFOS licenses or 3rd party OS).
