Sophos Home License - XGS

At home, I've a Sophos XGS 116 on which I'd like to install the Sophos Home License. I already wiped the SSD completely, but unfortunately I'm not able to install the Software Image on it. Every time when I try to boot from the USB-Stick, following Error Message appears:

-----
Detected Sophos XGS Physical Device.
Please get proper installation source.
timeout: can't execute '/bin/statusled-I2C': No such file or directory
press y to reboot
-----

Does anybody know how to Install the Home License on my XGS 116?

  • possible, you are able to install software while HDD isn't placed within XGS.

Seems there is a marker within BIOS.

  • I tried this as a test recently and it doesn't work.

However, the biggest issue is the XGS models use AMD processors and there is currently no support for AMD processors in the Software ISO used for the home license.

  • That is not true. I have successfully used the XG on a PC with an AMD a6-7400k.

You might want to download gParted Live partitioning tool and creating a bootable USB using Etcher or Rufus. Windows is not a suitable environment for partitioning Linux formatted disks.

  • As i pointed out in another thread, AMD processors used by Sophos are X86 compatible.
