Change OTP Name for authenticator apps

Hello Sophos and everyone else,

we are in the progress from switching all of the UTMs to XGSs at our customers.

Unfortunately we are facing a little problem with the OTP implementation at XGS.

At the (Google) Authenticator App we see the following:

UTM: Companyname (first.last@company.com)

XGS: Sophos SFOS (first.last@company.com)

Since our customers often had multiple VPN connections to different firewalls we need to change that "Sophos SFOS" like we were able at the UTM, there is the company name field.

How can we customize that "Sophos SFOS" on firewall side like it was possible at the UTM?

Best regards,

Johnny

  • Hello Erick Jan,

my hostname is "IcSrvXgs01" not "Sophos SFOS".

But at the authenticator app there is the name "Sophos SFOS", like  already mentioned in his post.

So your sentence where the name comes from seems not to be right, it seems to be hardcoded "Sophos SFOS".

    Could you please check that?

    Best regards, Johnny

  • Hi Johnny,

Upon testing on google authenticator. It seems there’s no way to change the default Sophos SFOS(name) via app.

I've also tested on Duo authenticator; it states Third-Party(Name) and can't change it.

However, when I used the Sophos Intercept X as the authenticator. I can edit the name and change the Sophos SFOS, as seen below.

For information regarding Sophos Intercept X for mobile. You may check the following RR
