firewall logs - dest urls not ip address

Hi,

please explore some of the other drop down menus besides firewall in logviewer.

i did click filter in log viewer and i cant see "url" option

do you mean in log viewer or do you mean some other tool other than that

You can click on log viewer > with the drop down menu select Web filter > then go to add filter on the left > under the Field option select url

add filter i dont see URLS

You do not see that option, is because you are looking under the Firewall tab, select web filter and then click on Add filter you will be able to see URL

i dont have that option unfortunatley, maybe because im running an old version of firmware

ok so now im on it, its not getting any live data, i persume i need to set this up?

Correct, ensure under the firewall rules, log firewall traffic is enabled and web policy is applied.

ok ive ticked log firewall rules, where do i find or tick the option for web policy?

Under the FW rule > Security Features > Web Filtering > under the drop down menu you can select the policy.

do i select "allow all" as atm its none, i imagine i dont want to select "deny all"

select "allow all" if you do not want to restrict anything as of now.
With none, it will not log the traffic.

nice one, as atm this rule is off as we only turn on if a production machine needs internet access briefly for licensing etc

i will allow all under web filtering and turn this rule on next and i will then see what url its trying to hit
