Hello All,

After upgrading to SFOS 17.5.9 MR-9 causing random reboot?

Is this issue is related to firmware upgrade?

  • Hi

An update to MR9 should not be causing random reboots.

Please open a support case so that support can review the syslog.log file.

It will be helpful to Support if you can include a console dump of the XG when this happens.  Most of the time, out of memory related event do not write anything to the syslog file but it does to the standard out which would be the COM port/VGA port.

    Thanks!

  • Im was having a similar problem with SFOS 17.5.9 MR-9 and XG 210.

After upgrading it from SFOS 17.5.7 MR-7 to SFOS 17.5.9 MR-9 the device * froze * 3 times this week, it was needed to force a reboot, because the network and all neworking services stopped working.
We cannot got access by ssh or web Gui, no ping, no access.

Even this after the reboot we spent a time analyzing the logs and none suggestive info it was found.

I downgrade to 17.5.7 MR-7 again. And Im will following it. Until now, the freeze does not happen.

    Regards,

    Carlos

  • Funny error:-(. If it is a software problem this should never go through the tests.

Does not need to be a software problem. Could also be hardware (memory problem - when MR-9 uses previously unused memory).
