Enrolling Device after latest update on app

I am not able to enroll new devices to sophos MDM after the latest update on Sophos mobile control app which was on 15th July. Did anyone enroll a device lately? We have binded to Gsuite and enforced Emm settings from Gsuite such that when email entered from initial set up, sophos is installed and all the configurations are followed from then. But now from 16th i am not able to enroll new device.

I have even tried with afw#sophos. Same thing happens. Configuration is not completed and the app which is installed crashes when tried to open on both cases.

Any Idea???

  • We have a similar mistake since yesterday.

Mobile devices can not be captured via a QR Code in the SSP or ZeroTouch in our Sophos Mobile.

The devices do not receive the order packages from Sophos Mobile.

  • So no news so far, I even shared this community post to help explain the situation more. I'll post something back when I get some news [;)]

  • I am also communicating with Sophos support. I got in touch with a Global Escalation Support Engineer. According to the last update i receive, the problem is related to the android version. Their Engineers are now working on fixing the problem on application to solce the issue related to android 7 and hopefully we will get the new version soon. Will let you know as soon as i get any other update from them.

  • Thanks for the info Hussain [Y]

  • That's what I thought. Thanks for the update.

  • Hi everyone,

    sorry for the delayed reply.
Our development team has identified the problem and are working on a new Sophos Mobile Control Android client version which should be available during the course of the day.

The new app most likely will have the build version 9.0.3446.

There were two different behaviors we have seen so far:

    1. Android Enterprise Device Owner enrollment does not work on Android 7 devices

    2. Android Enterprise Profile Owner enrollment gets stuck when finishing the registration.

Both issues have the same root cause which does not affect all devices.

    Best regards

    Stefan

  • Hi everyone,

the new client should be available now.

Please install the latest version and test the Android Enterprise enrollment again - feedback welcome.

    Best regards

  • Hi Stefan,

Good news, our LG K9 handsets appear to be working again.... I didn't mention before, but I also had an issue with an LG G6 not being able to go into Profile mode (BYOD), this too is working!

So fingers cross for everyone else in the thread [:D][;)]
