Hello,
We are getting alerts from Sophos Central for dozens of 2008 R2 servers saying the have missed two updates. It looks like updates stopped on 1/9/2022.
Did support stop on 2008 R2? I'm seeing this in the susvc.log:
2022-01-09T06:45:39.289Z [ 2228: 6656] I Launching C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Cache\sophos_autoupdate1.dir\SophosUpdate.exe2022-01-09T06:45:39.370Z [ 2228: 6656] I Started update [8404]: "C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Cache\sophos_autoupdate1.dir\SophosUpdate.exe" -PolicyUpdate -RootPath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\AutoUpdate\"2022-01-09T06:45:46.002Z [ 2228: 6656] I Finished update [8404]: exit 2
Hi George,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
These update failures are due to the end of support date having passed for Sever 2008 R2.
Standard support ends:End of December 2020…
Standard support ends:End of December 2020 (SEC managed)End of December 2021 (Central managed)
The last day that updates would have gone through successfully is Saturday 8th January 2022.
If you wish to continue protecting these systems, I'd suggest reaching out to your Account Manager or Regional Salesperson to inquire about an Extended Support License.
Hi,
I was trying to reinstall SC on a 2008 R2 server yesterday, but it says 'You are not licensed to install any products provided by this installer. Check your licence usage in Sophos Central', even though we have licences available. I'm guessing this is also down to end of support for SC on 2008, so it won't allow me to reinstall now?
Thanks
