[RESOLVED] [Sophos Notification] Advisory: Central Admin - Some customers are receiving Central email alerts in a different language

Hi Community,

Since April 13th, some customers are receiving Central Email alerts in a different language. Central Email Alerts that are sent should be in the configured language of the Administrator that it is being sent to. This is not happening at the moment, and a fix is being investigated.

This article has been published to provide a workaround and will be updated when more information becomes available.

  • [Update] May 3rd Update - The expected fix for this email alert language behavior in Central Admin Dashboard is currently expected to be completed for Wednesday May 8th.

Once this update is released, the expected email alert language behavior will be as follows:

    • Central Admin Dashboard (CDB)
      • Language of alert will be taken from the Central Administrators configured language.
      • It is (will be) possible to have email alerts sent out in different languages for the same account.
    • Enterprise and Partner Dashboard (EDB/PDB)
      • Once EDB/PDB alerts are enabled, the expected behavior for email alert language will be taken from the customers/sub estates dashboard account language.
      • With EDB/PDB controlled alert management, it will not be possible to have alerts sent in different languages as it is when configured directly in the Central account/dashboard itself.
      • If the customers (or sub estates) language needs to be changed to something different from what it was originally created, please follow the same process in this article to request this through a Technical Support case.

Note: We will document this in Sophos Central Admin: Alerts page and settings FAQ, once the issue described in this article is resolved.
