Sophos Entferprise Console - Update issues

We are running Sophos Enterprise Console version 5.2.1.197 and we are having a message popping up saying that it has not been upgrded since 02 September 2014 at 11:29. When looking under the upgrade manager tab, it shows that it last checked for an update at 11:53:49 on the 02/09/2014 however many times I have told it to update manually since then.

Also on the Endpoint fronts the Enterprise Console is showing that 71 of our Computers are out of date, however when checking on a random sample of the machines, they have all downloaded an update this afternoon (03/09/2014). The only way the computers are removed from the 'Out-of-date Computers' is when they are shut down at the end of the day.

Has anyone experienced this issue, and is there a solution to the problem.

    apparently SUM (your only) can't update. As long as it hasn't updated successfully I wouldn't concentrate on the endpoints.

    What's in the Alerts and Errors columns of the Update managers view? Or better go straight to View Update Manager Details. Likely you'll need to inspect the logs (start with the Logviewer). Do you have one subscription or more and do you have only the default (SophosUpdate) distribution point or additional ones?

    When looking in the Update Managers View the Alerts and Errors colomns are empty. In the 'View Update Manager Details' screen, there are no error or alert messages shown there either, the only information displayed beyond details on the server are the 'Time of last binary update' and 'Time of last protection data update' both of which show '02/09/2014 11:29:55'

    When looking through the Update manager log Viewer, the only errors shown are:

    30/08/2014 00:58:44 - Error - Event for dispatcher 'WeeklyReportDispatcher-2014-08-29T23-58-44-1' failed to execute

    30/08/2014 00:58:44 - Error - Action 'WeeklyReportAction' failed.

    23/08/2014 16:14:24 - Error - Event for dispatcher 'WeeklyReportDispatcher-2014-08-23T15-14-24-1' failed to execute

    23/08/2014 16:14:24 - Error - Action 'WeeklyReportAction' failed.

    The only warnings shown are:

    30/08/2014 00:58:44 - Warning - Weekly report failed to complete.

    23/08/2014 16:14:24 - Warning - Weekly report failed to complete.

    I have attached a copy of today's log for you to view.

    We only have the one Subscription, which is set to Recommended, and we only have the one default distribution point.

    hm, maybe its not properly talking to itself. Might help to restart the Sophos Agent, Message Router and perhaps SUM service (at least it should do no harm).

    Thank you for your help on that, that seems to have solved the issue.

    One last question. Haver you ever experienced the Sophos management Host and some of the other Services stopping, and then being unable to starft back up, as they have 'forgotten' their logon credentials?
