Sophos Entferprise Console - Update issues

We are running Sophos Enterprise Console version 5.2.1.197 and we are having a message popping up saying that it has not been upgrded since 02 September 2014 at 11:29. When looking under the upgrade manager tab, it shows that it last checked for an update at 11:53:49 on the 02/09/2014 however many times I have told it to update manually since then.

Also on the Endpoint fronts the Enterprise Console is showing that 71 of our Computers are out of date, however when checking on a random sample of the machines, they have all downloaded an update this afternoon (03/09/2014). The only way the computers are removed from the 'Out-of-date Computers' is when they are shut down at the end of the day.

Has anyone experienced this issue, and is there a solution to the problem.

    apparently SUM (your only) can't update. As long as it hasn't updated successfully I wouldn't concentrate on the endpoints.

    What's in the Alerts and Errors columns of the Update managers view? Or better go straight to View Update Manager Details. Likely you'll need to inspect the logs (start with the Logviewer). Do you have one subscription or more and do you have only the default (SophosUpdate) distribution point or additional ones?

    A number of potentially applicable articles can be found by searching the knowledgebase for Logviewer.
