since a few days we have problems with our scripted installation of the Sophos Endpointprotection on our MacBook.
here is our command line, we have used for months without any problems:
./Sophos\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Sophos\ Installer --install --devicegroup "MacOS Clients"
now I have the problem, that the endpoint protection software is installed properly, but there is no client registration on our Sophos Central
i´ve tried some other commands and found out, that without the --devicegroup "MacOS Clients" attribute, the installation and registration work´s fine, so there has to be a problem with our device group argument
any idea, how I can fix that?
You can try re-registering the endpoint as mentioned in this article on any one of the endpoints and see if it helps.
hi Shweta, thank you for your respond. Unfortunately this was not the solution. The endpoint do not registering on Sophos Central.
Can you please confirm if this is happening on multiple devices or is it an isolated incident? Do you see any error in the UI or in the logs?

Same. If using the --devicegroup no client registration happens.
I will look into this. Clarification - does it happen with any group name or just group names that have a space in them?
We thought first we had made some mistakes, as we do use groups with spaces. But in the end we created a group name with no spaces (just 8 letters) as a test, and it still fails.
Im pretty sure this worked fine a few weeks ago (with the same installer)
I have done testing and the issue is the " instead of ' around the name.
./Sophos\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Sophos\ Installer --install --devicegroup 'MacOS Clients'
This has worked for all attempts on my test machine.
I created the group as above, and used the exact same install string as you. And it doesn't work for us.
./Sophos\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Sophos\ Installer --install --devicegroup TestGroup
./Sophos\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Sophos\ Installer --install
Downloaded a new installer this morning. And that one works. (re-tried the old one I had, and that one still not working)
