Compatibility with Windows Vista?

Question

I received an alert today from a system with the following wording. 
 What happened: Computer is running an operating system and service pack combination which is no longer supported. Please upgrade to continue receiving protection. 
 I checked on the system and found its running Windows Vista Business SP2. I know the implications of leaving a Vista machine online. I am somewhat confused though that I would receive this alert from Sophos but not able to find any documentation that Vista is no longer supported. Can someone point me in the right direction for documentation on this? I know XP support was phased out a while ago.

 The support for Windows Vista was retired since 31st October 2018. We rolled out a community and twitter notifications for this, please find it below.
