Sophos 9.5.2 is not running

i have the latest update el capitan and i have the latest sophos. when i restart my mac, the sophos logo is grey and appear the pop up "sophos is not running" for a few second but after the sophos logo become active and the pop up disappear... is normal? maybe because i have 4gb of ram? i have macbook pro mid 2011.

the Sophos shield may be doing that after your reset because it's rebuilding the cache system
I've noticed the same thing as well in Sophos Home after an autoupdate; opening the console logs showed it had to rebuild the cache

We have recently had this same issue on a number of Mac Pros all running Yosemite and Sophos 9.5.2. When starting up in the morning, multiple users see a message saying "Sophos Antivirus is not running" and there is only an OK button. Once you click on OK, and check Sophos, everything appears to be running correctly.

This is not a RAM issue. We have seen this message on production Macs which run both 16GB and 32GB of RAM.

The Sophos icon does not appear greyed out after the start up.

The Macs themselves have all updates except El Capitan installed.

Well we do have the same symptoms, but we use Sophos Anti-Virus Enterprise. However we have/had this problem on a 10.10 Macbook Air, so we cleaned Sophos off it and updated to 10.11 and reinstalled sophos again. It was working without any trouble for one or two days. But today after waking the computer from sleep the pop up came up again. Ugh...

How does the install.log might help?

Thanks Daniel, our 9.5.3 release should fix this issue and it is rolling out now. By October 26th you should have it.

Do we need to update the sophos ec in order to get 9.5.3. Or is the client also pushed out with the most recent version?

Any other updates with this wonderful software? Is this still available in the home edition or is it only the cloud version?

I have Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition v 9.5.3.
