  • We have recently had this same issue on a number of Mac Pros all running Yosemite and Sophos 9.5.2.  When starting up in the morning, multiple users see a message saying "Sophos Antivirus is not running" and there is only an OK button.  Once you click on OK, and check Sophos, everything appears to be running correctly.

This is not a RAM issue.  We have seen this message on production Macs which run both 16GB and 32GB of RAM.

The Sophos icon does not appear greyed out after the start up.

The Macs themselves have all updates except El Capitan installed.
