UTM appliance network config

Question

I know I probably shouldn't be messing with a UTM, but I have a VMware homelab and want to use the home edition for my firewall. I need to know how I need to setup the network interfaces and at the very least get out to the internet. I'm in IT but don't ever touch networking but can probably work through the rest. 1. Do I need to configure the second NIC as an outbound interface? If so any guidance on this? I'm using a USG as my router. 
 2. What will my allow all outbound rule look like?

 Welcome to the Sophos Community! 
 Yes, you will need to configure atleast two interfaces (normally one for your internal LAN network and one as your outbound WAN interface). However since you mention you have another router (USG) acting as your upstream device, you could also setup your firewall in bridge mode to pass traffic along to your USG router to avoid having double-NAT (private network on the internal UTM interface and private network on the UTM WAN interface - as it's connected behind your USG router).

 Your allowed outbound rule in bridge mode would look like: Internal > Any > Internal
