UTM Free version, bridge interfaces into switch?

I would like to try UTM free on a repurposed pc. If I install two quad port nics, can I make one port WAN, and then make 5 or so of the other ports into an integrated switch for the LAN side, much like most consumer home nat routers have? And in general terms, how would I do that?

thanks

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Yes, you just need bridge the LAN ports together, define a DHCP server if you want UTM to serve the IP addresses and plug the devices. Next, configure WAN, create a Masquerading rule and add a firewall rule LAN > Services > WAN.
