Firefox is giving me frequent "The connection was reset" messages - is Sophos not treating Firefox as a trusted application or similar?

Firefox often doesn't take me to previously visited sites right away, though it does when I retry the same URL. Started happening around the time I upgraded to latest Sophos AV. A web search indicated this is a sign of a browser not being trusted by AV or anti-malware software, but I don't see anywhere to tell Sophos what to trust or not trust.

Thanks!

  • For Month, I've got "The connection was reset" and "can't establish a secure connection" err in Firefox, 2-5 times in a hour.
I deleted SOPHOS and No err occured.
I'm using NO OTHER third party antivirus or firewall tools. Just Only Sophos for Mac.

    Thank you.

Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.1
    Firefox 42.0
    Sophos 9.4.0
  • Hi everyone,

We just released a new version of SAV (9.4.1.). I'm curious to know if you've noticed improved performance since the latest release?

    Thanks,
    Serra
  • When I forced an update yesterday morning at start-up, I noticed the upgrade to 9.4.1 but also noticed continued "The connection was reset" messages. That continued, though with less frequency, throughout the day. However, so far today there have been no such warnings. While time will tell, there does seem to be an improvement with the 9.4.1 upgrade.
