Quarantine Manger won't open

Hi
I'm running 9.4.0 on an iMac using El Capitan. When I have run a scan using Admin rights, an issue has been detected however the Quarantine Manger won't open. Any ideas?

  • Hi Brett,

If you do a force restart on SAV, does this keep happening? Sounds to me like something may have crashed in the background, so taking a look at the Sophos Antivirus log might help.

    Thanks,
    Serra
  • I have this same problem. Preferences won't open either. I'm also on El Capitan and running Sophos 9.4.1.

Where/how can I find the log file to investigate? Thanks!
  • Forcing the Sophos AV application to quit (via Apple --> Force Quit) and then restarting from the Applications folder allowed me to open the Quarantine Manager.
  • I'm running Sophos antivirus 9.4.2 on El Capitan, and have the same problem where the Antivirus client appears to work but the Quarantine Manager becomes inaccessible.

The workaround seems to be to kill the various Sophos services from command line (since SophosAV doesn't show up as an application in the 'force quit' dialog): "sudo pkill -i sophos" ... and launching the SophosAV app from the Applications folder.

I would point out that this is not a new issue. I started happening for me a long time ago on an earlier version of SophosAV, when the machine as running OSX Mavericks.
