El Capitan and Sophos AV for Mac 9.4.0

Hi there,

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) to El Capitan, and tried to run Sophos AV 9.4.0. It updates fine, and the scan begins fine, but it gets stuck and won't move; it's not showing in the OS as 'not responding', but it's been stuck on the same file for about three hours.

Given all the problems El Capitan is causing, is this just one more of them?

    Since i updated to El Capitan , when I start my mac mini (just a couple of months old, the disk is not full) I get the message "Sophos Anti Virus is not running" When I try to open Sophos it crashes and I have to do a force quit , uninstall and reinstall. This lasts till the next time I start up the computer.
