Use SG Encryption with VPN and Windows Remote Desktop

Hello,

thank you in advance for your help!

We have SafeGuard En terprise since 1 Month. Now some of the users, p.e. the ceo and cfo, want to work from home.

We know, that terminal server is not supported from Safe Guard Enterprise.

So our idea is, that the users connect trough VPN to their desktop pc's in the company and then they can work over their own desktop pc.

How can we realize that?

We use the file encryption for our network drives and the registration option is "Token only".

Is there a possibility, that the token will be recognized on my desktop pc in the company while i am at home and just connected via vpn and remote desktop?

Sorry for my bad english - if something is not clear, you're welcome to ask - and thanks for your help.

Regards

Christoph

  • Hello Christoph,

Working in this manner should be perfectly fine, except for the tokens.

The office PCs should be left on, if they have to be power off then you can look at the secure WOL features to get the machines online.

Users should remote on as themselves and they'll be able to use their machines as normally, synchronisze with SafeGuard server, and perform all their usual tasks.

  • Thanks for your answer.

Ok, the token can be plugged in my private PC at home and the PC in the company recognize my token through RDP?

I tried it last week and after i logged on my PC in the company over RDP and VPN, SafeNet asked me to put in my token. But the token was plugged in in my private pc.

Are there any settings which are necessary to do that?
