Web Appliance Unique users

Question

Just getting started out with the Web appliance and we have 5 users configured to use the web appliance. However, on the dashboard it shows 7 unique users. Is there a way to list all the users that have connected to the web through the web appliance?

No problem Zebra. This will depend on your settings in 'Configuration | System | Authentication'.  The main setting is whether 'Authenticate all requests' is enabled - This can only be enabled in explict deployment mode. If this option is disabled then only traffic from supported browsers will be authenticated, and we also use a 5 minute cache rather than authenticating every single request. There are other settings on this page to control what happens if authentication fails (eg. block/allow access).  Finally, there is the 'Profiles' tab which may have particular traffic exempt from authentication, based on User-Agent, destination domain, or client device type. Remember it is usually necessary to exclude at least some traffic from authentication, because many third party applications can't authenticate with proxies. Hope this is of some help! Tom. :29361
