Password of the day as text file

Hi,

For some infotaintment system, I need to get the password of the day, from the UTM, which is normally send as an email, in plain text instead.

Do any of you have some tricks for this or do I have to do something with mail, and powershell things the rest of the way?

You mean you want plain-text email instead of HTML email, or ?

Hi Barry,

Not quite, the best thing would be to get the password in at text file in the end, I can then upload it to the infoscreen system at the hotel for people to see [;)]

If it's readable from 'cc' (it should be), then you could write an SSH script from another computer to fetch it.

Otherwise, you could look for the cron job that sends the daily password; it's probably a Perl script - if so you should see the 'cc' command, or be able to make a copy of the script which saves to a file.
What time is the email sent?

hmm, I'm not sure which cron job it is...

cc get
(run as root)

will give you a LOT of info, maybe you can find it in there.

try
cc get hotspot
(I'm not using the daily password, so I don't see anything on mine, but it might be there)
