What is the advantage of Sophos WiFi vs another brand?

I'm new to Sophos - still evaluating.

I am about to use several Apple Airport Extreme units to create a WiFi network in my home/office. When I saw that Sophos has WiFi units I stopped in my tracks and decided to evaluate this option.

Can someone explain what the advantage would be of deploying Sophos WiFi hubs instead of another brand? I do not yet understand what the management capabilities in Sophos can do with their hubs that I cannot do with another brand.

    Cannot recommend the Sophos solution if youre using iDevices as there are some bugs/issues coming and going when it comes to Apple clients. Search the forum for Apple problems with Sophos APs. For example the thread right below this one..

    some experiences from a home user.

    One UTM running 9.305 with an AP30
    provides reliable connections for appletv, ipad (v3), mac book pros older models and iphones.
    One UTM running 9.305 with AP10 and AP50
    provides reliable connections for late model mac book pros, ipads (range of models), mac mini.
    One UTM running 9.305 with an AP10.
    Provides reliable connections for ipad mini, iphone 6s, mac book pros and mac mini.

    All of these are setup in Wifi bridged to local lan and with the channel bandwidth set to HT40.

    Some of the Apple issues have been caused by software bugs in the Apple OSes.

    My wife's mac book pro connected via the 5ghz channels has recently started throwing up strange issues. Both the UTM and the mbp think they are connected, but the log shows the mbp as having been disconnected. Either a restart or disable and re-enable wifi seems to fix the problem. Being tired of being under attack, I have switched her to the 2.4 ghz band to see what happens.
