    A walled garden is essentially a restricted area where anyone connecting to your WiFi hotspot can go to without requiring some form of authentication/password. To go outside of that confined space (walled garden) one has to supply that password

    For example, a hotel may offer free WiFi for anyone, allowing access to their website and reservation system, but only registered guests can access the internet.
