WLAN Printer with isolation possible?

Hello there,

we want to setup an guest wlan.
So we want to isolate the clients, that never ever anyone can see others in the guest-subnet.

Problem now: We cannot just add a wlan-capable printer for the guest-users, they cannot see/reach them.
Maybe a cable-connected version via own subnet/nic and doing a bridgeing?

And: When i want to connect the printer via wireless and i want to use the password of the day or voucher/ticket, how to alway allow the printer a connect to the ap? Just cannot input the code/key on the printer... where to put a exception for just this one ip/client/mac?

Thx in advance,

Manuel

  • If you choose hotspot then every device on the interface will need to enter a voucher, it's not a good choice for printers for that reason.
I think the wired printer is the best opportunity; you could create a firewall rule allowing the guestnetwork to reach the printers' IP-address.
