Strange Results from iPhone Speedtest App

Hey gang,

V8.309 AP 10 - two SSIDs:
  • Internal - bridged to Internal network - Transparent Web Proxy, No SSL scanning
  • AstaroGuest - separate network - No Proxy - Web Access via Firewall rules


Average of three iPhone tests on each, several hours apart:

Internal

 - Ping:16ms  Download:1.41Mb/s Upload:6.16Mb/s


AstaroGuest

 - Ping:79ms  Download:0.63Mb/s Upload:0.21Mb/s




I just tried speedtest.net on my laptop and got:

Internal

 - Ping:251ms  Download:1.00Mb/s Upload:0.36Mb/s


AstaroGuest

 - Ping:34ms  Download:1.46Mb/s Upload:0.38Mb/s




My laptop tests look like what I've seen in the past.  The Speedtest app on my iPhone gives correct results when I'm on LTE.  I assume that the iPhone app has a bug that causes it to give wrong readings when the phone is on WiFi.  Can anyone confirm this observation?

    I turn off caching everywhere.  Only one of my clients has it activated - an auto dealership where a major use is salesmen revewing sales training videos for the cars they sell.

    I'm pretty sure that the app is buggy.  Here I am at another location, and I get 0.44 up and zero down - not possible!
    Later: I rebooted the cable modem, and now get 7.53 down and 2.73 up - the mystery remains...
